David Clendenin was the assistant district paymaster of the United States Army in Poland, Ohio. The collection consists of pay and muster rolls, subsistence accounts, pay vouchers and receipts, morning reports, and abstracts of payments to members of the Ohio Militia during the War of 1812, and documents pertaining to the military activities of John Campbell, Return J. Meigs, and William Hull.
